BBC Live Lounge at Solent

Solent University was pleased to host BBC Radio Solent for a special Live Lounge from our East Park Terrace campus. Jerry Williams performed ‘David at the Bar’ with the production filmed and edited by a combination of Media Production and Media Technology students. First and third year BSc (Hons) Live Sound Technology students helped ensure that the front-of-house and fold-back equipment was setup and working correctly with third year, Alex leading the team.

‘David at the Bar’ is already available on BBC Music Introducing: Solent with two more videos from the same session due soon. The project was an excellent opportunity for production and technical students to collaborate on a professional production and their ability to contribute content to a world-class broadcaster such as the BBC is testament to their abilities. The School of Media Arts and Technology prides itself on the real world learning opportunities that it is able to provide and is grateful to BBC Radio Solent for their support.
