IABM Awards: sponsored trip to Amsterdam conference
This morning four second-year students presented to the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM) in a bid to win sponsorship to attend the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam.
The students were asked to present on emerging technologies to look out for at IBC 2018 and selected some pertinent topics including Augmented Reality, IP Connectivity and High Dynamic Range. The IABM’s Dr Martin Salter was extremely impressed with their presentation skills. With only two places available, Jedd and Nick were the successful candidates, having impressed with their targeted approach to the brief. They will receive travel, accommodation and sustenance during the five day exhibition as well as full conference passes and invitations to key events. It’s a phenomenal opportunity to network with industry professionals and to hear about cutting edge technologies from leading experts.
Well done to all the students for making it through the first round of the selection process and for preparing such well-delivered presentations. Several students still have the opportunity to work at IBC as the Media Technology programme also supplies several student technicians each year to help facilitate IBC News and the audio-visual needs of the conference.
Solent University is the UK higher education partner for the IABM and each year students from the Media Technology programme are eligible to apply for two places to the IBC conference. Previous winners have benefited greatly from meeting professionals from across the globe and finding out about cutting edge technologies.
