ADAM – Short Film by Miks Kristians Ozolins

6 January 2022

We’re living in an era where we’re on the verge of making science fiction a reality. The two wealthiest men on Earth are investing heavily in space tourism. A global hi-tech brand like Facebook has rebranded itself into Meta and created a new virtual reality universe called ‘Metaverse.’

At the beginning of the human era, we decided to immigrate from a place in Ethiopia. And expand our territory across the globe. Now we’re living in an age where we know there is no edge of the world. That’s why we are trying to explore the edge of the universe. We’re living in a time to immigrate ourselves into a new world. But we have options on which island we’re willing to ship ourselves to, the island called Mars or Metaverse.

What makes humans great is that we depend on our development on civilisation. However, Miks Ozolins says this “translates to likes, comments and status updates.” I asked him if he could expand on that. He replies, “technology may seem like it brings us closer together, but we’re lonelier in reality than ever.”

Therefore, you should watch ADAM, a short film created by Ozolins. It explores a story of a man who likes to live a life on the edge, but he is trapped in his own complication between what is real and what is not. The world was just celebrating the biggest and most expensive $10B Telescope we had just launched into space. This is your chance to look through the lens of Miks Ozolin’s ADAM.
