Hello, whether you're a new face or a returning student to our Media Production course, we thought kicking off the semester with some handy campus tips might just be what you need. From snagging the best equipment to finding that perfect spot for your editing session, we've got you covered!
1. Gear Up at The Hatch 📸
Need a camera, mic, or studio? Head over to The Hatch. Bookmark this link: Solent Equipment Booking. You'll find it nestled in The Spark building, just down the stairs. A word to the wise: those photography/radio studios get booked up fast. If you are planning to book them don't leave it for the last minute!
2. Workspace 💻
If you are looking for a nice collaborative space the library is your go-to. Reserve a study room for team sessions or find a table just for you in the quiet section – a window-side table is great for screen breaks! For a change of scene, our top cafe picks near campus are: Muse, Nest, Coffee 1, and Mettricks. Great Wi-Fi, comfy vibes, and the coffee is amazing.
3. Wellbeing 🧘
Uni can be intense, and it's essential to keep our well-being in check. If you ever feel the weight, the uni offers free therapy sessions. Learn more here. Need to shake off that stress? The campus gym awaits, or perhaps a session at HotPot Yoga or a climbing session at BlouderShack. Joining a society is also a fantastic way to unwind and connect.
