It is said that “a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only once” (George MM Martin). Through stories, we can travel across galaxies and immerse ourselves in worlds of wonder and magic. In times of uncertainty, tales of adventure have a particular allure and favourable captivation. One that ensures its audience will become immersed in another reality. But some stories allow us to live another life within a world much like our own.

‘Thief in the Shadows’ is one such tale. Butler’s Audio Drama guides listeners through a riveting story packed with unexpected twists and turns. Full of playful adventure, this fast-paced tale follows the life of Allie, a thief who goes about her life of heists, petty thievery and running from guards until one day she is presented with a mystery. This short story will leave you wanting to know more thanks to its enchanting nature. The attention to detail and well-written characters provide the means for immersing listeners into the story and crafting a connection between the characters and listeners in a short space of time. It is an excellent example of how the immersion of storytelling and audio can be so powerful in entrancing audiences.
