MSc Project Management
Aligned to the Association for Project Management, this professional course will help you take your career to the next level, by studying methodologies, techniques and processes of project management.
In every industry, in every sector, there’s a need for professionals with the practical understanding and specialist knowledge to design, develop and deliver a huge range of projects. From the largest strategic projects to small incremental changes, it’s project managers who get the job done.
This course is delivered online, meaning there's a high degree of flexibility for apprentices to study alongside their work, and for employers to suit the needs of their business. You'll take part in regular workshops with your fellow students and you'll also receive dedicated 1-2-1 time with your tutor.
On this 20-month, professionally-driven apprenticeship, you’ll develop the specialist skills and best industry practice of the professional project manager – all while continuing to work and earn with your employer.
Associate project managers are key to enabling organisations to meet their business goals by successful project delivery. Projects can be large or small, diverse in nature, and deliver a required product that either creates something new or improves efficiency and effectiveness, such as designing and constructing a new motorway or implementing a new IT system.
Many organisations deliver their own projects using in-house associate project managers. Some associate project managers work on a contract basis or for specialist organisations that deliver outsourced project work on behalf of clients.
This apprenticeship will help to develop you to contribute to the successful delivery of a project, ensuring its scope and benefits are achieved as planned. It will enable you to identify, resource, schedule, and monitor the activities that need to happen in a certain sequence and timescale. You'll also be able to monitor the project objectives and milestones and adjust plans in accordance with evolving circumstances.
Covering everything from developing and pitching your project’s business case, to budgeting, to risk management, the apprenticeship delivers the latest industry insights.

An apprenticeship offers a unique blend of work experience and academic study. Candidates on an apprenticeship will work a paid job while simultaneously working towards a relevant qualification in their chosen field.
Apprentices are employees with a contract of employment that must cover the duration of the programme being studied. Apprentices have guaranteed time from their employer to complete their studies, at a minimum of six hours a week, known as off-the-job training hours. The University will provide each apprentice with a tracker to ensure these off the job hours are logged to demonstrate compliance with this funding rule.
This course is delivered online, meaning there's a high degree of flexibility for apprentices to study alongside their work, and for employers to suit the needs of their business. You'll take part in regular workshops with your fellow students and you'll also receive dedicated 1-2-1 time with your tutor.
Solent offers a diverse range of higher and degree apprenticeships, some of which will include an additional qualification that will be studied within the Apprenticeship Standard, eg: HNC, BA or BSc.
Our apprenticeships give employees the opportunity to upskill in their chosen field or retrain for a new career while working.
