Course overview

For the first two years of the course students will study the HNC Construction Management modules part-time. Upon successful completion of the HNC, students are eligible to move on to study the BSc (Hons) Construction Management undergraduate degree for the final three years, on a part-time basis.

The combination of the HNC modules, followed by the BSc (Hons) modules, gives those already working in the industry the opportunity to build on their existing experience and gain a degree qualification.

Our 30 years’ experience of delivering construction management training has helped us to develop a programme that works for both employees and employers. The curriculum is delivered flexibly on a part-time basis, allowing students to apply what they have learnt directly to their day-to-day work and continuing to be an asset in the workplace.

Inspiring, challenging and professionally accredited – our programme offers a varied curriculum based on the key themes of management, technology and professionalism. You’ll develop valuable skills and work closely with industry partners, experienced tutors and the latest in construction technology.

You’ll develop a full understanding of the economic considerations and the industry’s legal framework. Extensive industry involvement ensures you’ll have a strong working knowledge of the technology and management techniques being used in the sector today. To support this, you’ll undertake challenging live briefs to help develop your teamwork, project management, problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills.

The course content is regularly reviewed to meet industry and professional requirements, and covers emerging topics in the field of construction management to ensure your learning is right up to date.

Our accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Building demonstrates that the course meets strict standards set by the industry itself. It also gives you the chance to work towards additional professional qualifications alongside your ongoing degree studies.
