Managers from across the UK enjoy an industry-relevant and accessible curriculum, alongside opportunities to progress to leadership and management apprenticeship programmes upon completion. These provide the associated CMI accreditations and opportunity to continue their professional development.
With the use of consultancy in a practical way to put our knowledge and expertise to work for the benefit of business and the wider community, this can enhance your offering through benefit of our lean practitioners, portfolio and project manager specialists and change agents to provide innovative and sustainable outcomes.
As a Small Business Charter Award holding Business School, we can provide access to government-funded programmes in conjunction with the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, such as the Small Business Leadership Programme.

Maritime human factors
Our research, training and consultancy in maritime human factors aims to increase understanding and awareness of human factors in the international shipping industry.
Our mission is to help improve safety, promote best practice and improve technical and human resource management within shipping.
The research includes the analysis of casualties and the development of near miss and incident reporting systems.
Our full mission bridge simulator can be used for reconstructions of collisions and groundings, often giving insights to the investigation that are not obvious from other evidence sources.
Our specialist staff can also act as expert witnesses.
Previous customers include:
- individual shipping companies,
- flag states,
- government agencies,
- marine accident investigators,
- legal firms, and
- harbour masters.
Port development projects
Consultancy in aspects of port development includes examining the operational aspects of changes in a port, such as realigning existing berths, examining proposals for new berths, testing against specific combinations of meteorological conditions and investigating tug requirements and techniques.
Proposed berths, channels and other elements of a port can be built from drawings to achieve pilot and tug master familiarisation prior to the completion of the infrastructure.
The operational needs and procedures for new ship types and sizes can also be investigated on the simulation.
