About specialist printing and reprographics

Solent University has a wide range of creative and technical courses that require specialist printing and reprographics.

We can support students and staff to fulfil their specialist printing needs which may include fine art inkjet printing, super large format roll inkjet printing, double sided printing, print for zine and book works and use of specialist print media such as tracing paper, adhesive vinyl and clear film.

We also offer a range of print finishing including mounting on to various substrates, digital cutting and zine assembly as well as print trimming options.

The reprographics room also has facilities for both digital and analogue photographers. For students and staff working with film we can offer flatbed film scanning and virtual drum scanning, covering formats from 35mm up to 5x4 sheet. For digital photographers we have a suite of well specified Apple Mac computers loaded with Lightroom, Photoshop and InDesign, all colour calibrated for camera to print colour accuracy.

Our reprographics room is staffed by student supervisors, trained to use the facilities and to help students and staff use the space. All the photographic facilities are meticulously maintained by our Technical Instructors.
