This is an opportunity for students, staff, social work professionals, practitioners, health care professionals and the community to come together to share work, insights and requirements across the discipline.

The Solent Wellbeing Research Conference will showcase cutting-edge research compiled by final-year BA (Hons) Social Work students on contemporary themes within the sector. This free event is open to anyone wanting to share in high quality research and expertise, build collaborative relationships and engage in key areas and developments in social work practise and policy.

Professor David Croisdale-Appleby will deliver a keynote speech on some of the developments in health and social care. He will be introduced by Professor James Knowles, Vice-Chancellor of Solent University. Southampton’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Valerie Laurent will also be attending the event.

The event will be followed by an opportunity to view the research posters in various breakout rooms and discuss some of the latest developments in social work. Refreshments will also be available.

It's free to attend, however we ask that you register your place.

Dr David Galley, Course Leader in Social Work at Solent says: “We are very much looking forward to bringing together everyone with shared values to continually explore and improve social work practices, particularly in light of the recent negative media coverage of social work. Our student colleagues have been working extremely hard to prepare to share their research findings and are interested in sharing these widely. Our courses are well established, and we take great pride in having established relationships with community leaders in the social work arena in which many student colleagues develop their careers.”
