So you can see behind me we've got the annual Solent University maritime conference going on. This is a really good annual event that takes place involving speakers from all over the world covering a really wide range of topics.

Monday we had different speakers as well as Stopford which is the author of many of the books we read, so that was really interesting.

And it concludes with a really good networking careers fair which is an incredibly useful opportunity for a lot of people to get their first footsteps in the industry. 

Just learning about different aspects from the industry - I really enjoy that.

I wanted to see every sector of of the maritime ministry before choosing what I want to pursue.

Over here you have all a lot of the employers in one place and it's very easy to go around and find out what they do and what jobs are available. A lot of people make their connections, make their networks here at the careers fair and then go on to have really long fulfilling careers with those contacts they meet right here.

You get to meet people from the the business and see how they work what they do and it's been very good; very enlightening.

One year ago we were here in the same place and we had the chance to recruit and that's why it's very important and I hope next year the same will happen so that after today we will end up hiring someone.

We have been here talking to the students. We have uh presented Odfjell as a company.

I've worked uh this summer with Odfjell which has an internship, so I really enjoy them coming. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to seek what opportunity what roles and what what positions there are that could actually suit you and your future career.
