Partnerships

Solent Sport works with a number of local, regional and international partners to enhance the University sport experience and add value to the work we do with our community partners, such as Basketball England, BUCS and Energise Me.

We work closely with Hampshire FA, Southampton FC (girls and women's football) and Southern Vipers (women's cricket), helping to deliver extended sporting opportunities to the University and local community.

One of our key partnerships is with children's charity, Wooden Spoon, working with them to help develop Team Solent Sharks wheelchair rugby club.

We have recently begun work with the PFA; TASS, as a dual career accredited centre; and UKAD to develop our performance sport programme.

Our long-standing partnership with Southampton FC has benefited our students through work experience placements and guest lectures.

Team Solent Kestrels partnerships

Team Solent Kestrels was built on a partnership between community, education and performance sport and is now one of the largest basketball clubs in the UK.

Team Solent Sharks partnerships

Solent's wheelchair rugby team aims to engage with and offer sporting opportunities to the disabled community across the south coast.

Solent RFU and England Rugby

Solent Sport's partnership with England Rugby was the first of its kind. Students enrol on an internship programme that runs alongside their degree studies.
