Biography
Brent is the Head of Department for the Art and Music department and sits on the Academic Leadership Team for the university, and so is responsible for overseeing the operational running of the university’s creative courses within the arts, design, fashion music, performance and interior design provision at the, as well as such outward facing projects as RE:SO. He is the department’s Strategic Lead for Internationalisation and so has oversight of the department’s operations for recruitment & student/staff exchange programs across Europe and the Far East, as well as the department’s franchised courses in Portugal, China and India.
He has over 25 years of teaching experience across a range of creative undergraduate and postgraduate courses both here in the UK and internationally; this combined with extensive industry knowledge accumulated over a 25-year career in the creative sector has been used to deliver a both vocational and meaningful student experience. Leading to innovative curriculum transformation for courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
Brent is an experienced External Examiner, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, an artist, creative director, and practice-based-research scholar.
