India Lawton

Biography

India is a lecturer and course co-ordinator on the Art and Design Foundation Year. She is the tutor for the art group. India has also taught on BA (Hons) Photography, BA (Hons) Interior Design Decoration, BA (Hons) Prosthetics and Special Effects, and supervised dissertations for BA (Hons) Hair and Make-up Design. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and has been employed at Solent University since 2016.

After graduating from her BA (Hons) in Photography at The Arts University Bournemouth, India went on to study for an MA in Photographic Studies at Westminster University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Oxford Brookes University, and an MA in Education at Oxford Brookes University. India is currently a part-time research student, embarking on a practice-based photography PhD at Solent University.

India’s photographic work has been exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. She has been invited to various universities as a guest lecturer, worked in visual merchandising, and was an art ambassador for British Art Show 8.

India has a postgraduate certificate in education, a master's in education and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has taught in both further and higher education.
