Lee Davison, Course Leader

Biography

Lee graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2012 with a BSc in Sound Engineering. He worked as a knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) associate, on a project with Strategic Audiology Services and Solent Acoustics, working on the development and calibration of an audiometric testing system. He then became an acoustics developer for the Solent Acoustics team, with a particular interest in audiometry and the development of mobile applications for acoustics and audiometry. He became a lecturer in media technology in September 2017.

Lee holds the Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, and a BSA (British Society of Audiology) Certificate in Industrial Audiometry and a BSA Certificate in Otoscopy and Impression-taking. He holds a fellowship with the Higher Education Academy and is studying towards an MPhil in the subject of personal hearing risk among young people.

Lee’s interests include audio computing and game audio, acoustics, and. He teaches on a range of modules across the media technology and computing programmes, mainly focussed on the technical approaches to audio and computing.

As course leader for media technology, Lee is committed to providing excellent education opportunities to young people seeking a career in the media technology, broadcast, and live events industries.
