Marco Granese, Lecturer

Biography

Marco is an award-winning filmmaker based in Southampton. He is a graduate on the BA Hons Creative Industries at City University London. Marco has also been teaching film production since 2009.

He shot and edited the hip-opera Inferno, which won best narrative short at the Chicago International Hip Hop Film Festival in 2009. Two of the documentaries he has produced have been broadcast on current TV: The Community Channel and London Live. Marco has recently finished editing The Night the Wind Blew, a short fiction film that is being promoted on the UK and international film festivals circuit.

Before joining Solent, Marco worked at City University London as a visiting lecturer in film editing.

As coordinator of post-production for the film department, Marco has been responsible for redesigning the post-production strand on the BA (Hons) Film Production degree at Solent. Marco also teaches on the Digital Cinematography, Fiction and Beyond, The Promo, Professional Practice Portfolio and Final Major Project units.

Further information

Marco is currently working on a practice-led research project in the form of two feature-length hybrid films exploring the representation of migration and subaltern communities in hybrid cinema.
