Biography

Paul joined Solent University in 2015 after more than 25 years in the creative industries, including newspaper reporting and feature writing, print production journalism and radio presentation. Paul specialises in teaching audio production, audio documentary, podcasting, sound design for film, geo-locative app experiences, and digital marketing.

He has a degree in Communication Studies from Coventry University, a National Certificate in Newspaper Journalism from the National Council for the Training of Journalists, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Southampton, an MA in Journalism and Multimedia Communications from Solent University, and is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Paul is currently working on identifying an area of research for a PhD.

Outside the University Paul is involved with Hampshire-based independent music label, Krafted, for which he carries out artist and DJ interviews, and writes online promotional copy for its new releases. He is part of the film crew for Krafted’s social media video streaming projects, and is the voice-over for its YouTube documentaries and magazine programmes. Paul also voices the label’s online radio station imaging.
