Remi Itani

Biography

Remi is an award-winning Lebanese film director, producer and writer. She graduated from the London Film School's MA Filmmaking course with distinction.

Remi started her career as a documentary director for Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. She participated in numerous writing and directing workshops, among them a filmmaking workshop with the acclaimed director, Werner Herzog in Cuba and others like Torino Film Lab and Mediterranean Film Institute.

Her work has been selected for more than 90 international film festivals, such as IDFA Documentary Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam. She has been awarded the Boghossian prestigious residency award, the Berlin Film Festival International Cooperation (Robert Bosch Film Prize) and was nominated for best director at the British Short Film Awards 2021.

Remi’s work has been featured on the BBC, Al Jazeera, and the Barbican Centre.
