Biography

Sasha Halsey works as a lecturer in fashion at Solent University, previously studying an MA in Creative Direction for Fashion and Beauty and graduated with a BA (Hons) Fashion Styling degree.

Sasha is a media and communication professional with a demonstrated history of working in the apparel, fashion and beauty industry as a freelance stylist, creative director and make-up artist. Skilled in fashion styling, make-up artistry, creative direction and art. Committed to pushing boundaries within the industry, expanding society's idealistic approach to beauty.

Freelancing as a stylist, creative director and make-up artist over the last seven years in the industry. Producing editorial print and commercial work for magazines, brands and modelling agencies throughout e-commerce and retail markets.

Sasha Halsey works primarily on BA (Hons) Fashion Styling and Creative Direction and BA (Hons) Fashion Photography courses as part of the core team; teaching in the School of Art, Design and Fashion for three years across levels four, five and six.

During this time Sasha has worked both as an associate lecturer and lecturer in fashion, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practice whilst teaching across several undergraduate degrees including; BA (Hons) Beauty Promotion, BA (Hons) Make-Up and Hair Design, BA (Hons) Fashion Photography and BA (Hons) Fashion Management and Marketing. Sasha also achieved an associate fellowship with the Higher Education Academy in 2019.

Sasha has a demonstrated history of running workshops for international students and exchange programmes that focus on designing interactive and creative spaces to engage with fashion and beauty topics.
