Her other responsibilities at the University are leading the Regenerative Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Research Group, serving as Postgraduate Research Lead for Business and Law, and supervising postgraduate taught students and PhD students.

In terms of research, Whysni’s main research interests are located within female entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurial intention. Whysni is very passionate in supporting female entrepreneurs to run and grow their business. In terms of reviewing activities, Whysni has reviewed papers for publication for several entrepreneurship journals (e.g. Journal of Global Entrepreneurship Research, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Journal of Enterprising Communities: People and Places in the Global Economy, and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing) and conferences (eg, the Diana Female Entrepreneurship conference and Academy of Management). In addition, she is currently serving as a member of the Editorial Board of two international journals, and is a member of the Scientific and Publication Committee of the European University Network on Entrepreneurship.

In terms of organising conferences, Whysni has organised several, including the ESU (European University Network on Entrepreneurship) 2015 Conference and Doctoral Programme and annual Southampton Solent University Student Conference since 2022.
