Cathy works collaboratively with all the executive team to provide strategic leadership of research, knowledge exchange and innovation and ensuring it links closely with the education mission.
She is also responsible for identifying opportunities for growth, differentiation and improvement across all areas and ensuring that the University’s academic structure, resources, and performance align to the delivery of our academic strategy.

University of Salford – Interim Commercial Director/Ass. Dean Enterprise & Engagement
Cathy led a change programme to maximise academic enterprise and strengthen external partnerships and deliver a step change in income and benchmarks across KEF, REF and HEBCiS/HEIF.
Leeds Beckett University - Director of Research and Enterprise
Cathy led the Research and Enterprise Service, managed >£10m budget (including HEIF & QR) to grow research and enterprise communities, culture and activity.
Leeds Beckett University - Director of the Retail Institute (Leeds Business School)
Cathy was academic lead for a strategic pan university knowledge exchange institute, an industry led centre focusing on the future of retail consumer experiences.
University of Leeds, Operations Director, Faraday Packaging
Cathy led academic and operational activities for Faraday Packaging KTN, a >£10m collaborative research and knowledge exchange unit across 3 HEIs (Leeds, Sheffield, York), building partnerships with FMCG and Packaging Companies.
