Role at Solent
Amy provides strategic leadership of the University Library to deliver the Learning and Teaching and Student Success Enabling strategies.Â
As part of this role, Amy is responsible for ensuring the resources, space and services meet the evolving needs of Solent's diverse learning, teaching and research communities.
Amy also contributes to the development of the library sector across the UK and internationally, and develops relationships within the local community through the library services.
Experience
Amy has had a varied career across the library sector, holding roles in areas including collection management, customer services, and library leadership and management.
Before joining Solent, Amy's previous roles included Academic Engagement Lead at the University of Winchester, Campus Library Manager at the University of East London, and the Library Customer Care Collections Coordinator at Royal Holloway University.Â
Amy is an active voice in the library sector and has worked closely with organisations such as the Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals (CILIP), Special Libraries Association (SLA), American Libraries Association (ALA), and the Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL).
Additionally, Amy has extensive experience of working within the care sector and developing policy and approaches to support care experienced people. As a care leaver and foster carer, Amy continues to bring this into her work.Â
