Care Report allows concerns or incidents on or off campus to be reported by student, staff or anonymously. Any concerns can be reported to specific teams within the Student Success department in order to gain support, or simply highlight awareness to specialised trained staff.

Careers and employability
At Southampton Solent University, we invest in your employability from the start. Course modules are focused on real world examples, giving practical experience to contribute to final degrees and providing experience that can be used when applying for jobs. Students have access to a dedicated careers advice and employability service who offer impartial information, advice and guidance to support them and achieve their ambitions. Students, graduates and alumni members have access to Solent Careers Online to assist you with finding work experience, placements or jobs.

Disability
The Disability Advice Team provide information, advice and guidance for disabled students during their time at Solent, as well as access to on-campus support and facilities. They offer confidential advice, information, support and screening services for students who wish to disclose a disability or specific learning difficulties. Additionally, they can discuss additional measures or advice to academic/support staff who support students, while hosting a range of activities, advice, workshops, and facilities.

Funding
The student funding team aims to assist students with all matters relating to their student finance, including entitlements, support for specific claims or scholarships/bursaries or general aid. Student Hub
The Student Hub is the first point of contact for any queries relating to a course or any personal matters which may be affecting studies.
Student Hub staff are available to answer queries by phone, email or in person - they can be found in the Student Village in The Spark, TS114. They are open Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4.30pm and Friday, 9am to 4pm.

International support
The international advice service supports students throughout their university experience and helps them get the most out of student life, from arrival to graduation.
They offer a flexible advice service via email or bookable online/in-person appointments. Join the weekly online drop-in support sessions, Tuesdays 10-11.30am and Thursdays 1-2.30pm. Click here to join the meeting.

Mental health and wellbeing
The mental health advisers coordinate support for students with mental health difficulties to ensure they get the best support to meet their needs, both from within the University and from services outside the University. They offer talking therapy and mental health advice in addition to social prescriptions, groups, workshops and wellbeing cafés throughout the academic year, which can help to support students' mental health.

Safeguarding
The University is committed to delivering an excellent safeguarding and support provision to all students and learners. Our services provide a person-centred approach to all those impacted by a safeguarding concern or at risk of harm. We will listen to the voice of the child or adult and work to build a culture which recognises that safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. The service is committed to the continuous development of staff and learning from cases.

For safeguarding concerns that occur or are disclosed outside of hours but are not an emergency, you can submit a care report, and this will be reviewed within two working days.
If you have more significant concerns, you can make a referral for adults direct to Adult Social Care (this will depend on where the student resides). For learners living within the city of Southampton, these can be sent to adultsocialcareconnect@southampton.gov.uk or contacted via 023 8083 3003.
If your concern relates to a child please contact the Children's Resource Service at Southampton City Council, or the authority area where the child resides.
Student assistance programme
A SAP is a confidential resource, designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home or student life, health, or general wellbeing.
Our SAP is provided by external company Pam Wellness and offers a complete support network including expert advice and compassionate guidance, covering a wide range of issues. Pam Wellbeing’s SAP offers cover for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Spirituality and reflection
The spirituality and reflection service supports students of all faiths and backgrounds. The service maintains a multi-faith space/prayer room, located in JM112. In support of this service, they can also assist with putting students in touch with a local like-minded community external to the University.
