Where to get support

There are lots of ways to get help. Whether you have an issue with your course, finances, personal life or mental health our student success teams are here to assist.

To find out more about the services we offer and how to access support please click on the service you require support from below.

Careers and employability

Our dedicated careers advice and employability service offers impartial information, advice and guidance to support you and achieve your ambitions. Students, graduates and alumni members have access to Solent Careers Online to assist you with finding work experience, placements or jobs.

Disability

Our Disability Advice Team provides information, advice and guidance for disabled students and access to on-campus support and facilities. They offer confidential advice, information, support and screening services for students.

If you have any questions about support at the university, you can view further information here, take a look at the Disability Advice Team's pages on Solent Online Learning, or email disability@solent.ac.uk.

Alternatively, you can make an online referral via our case report web page. Once received the Disability Advice team will respond to you directly by the means you have specified on the form.

International support

The international advice service is here to support international students and help you get the most out of student life from arrival to graduation.

The team offer an advice service via email or bookable online/in-person appointments. Join our weekly online drop-in support sessions, Tuesdays 10-11.30am and Thursdays 1-2.30pm. Click here to join the meeting.

Student funding

Our Student Funding Team assist students with all matters relating to their student finance, including entitlements, support for specific claims or scholarships/bursaries or general financial aid.

To contact our Student Funding team, please email student.funding@solent.ac.uk or make an online referral via our case report web page . Once received, the Student Funding Team will respond to you directly by the means you have specified on the form.

Student Hub

Our Student Hub team can help with any questions about your course, personal life or mental health or any other question about your time at Solent. The team will endeavour to answer your query and if they can’t, will find the appropriate person or specialist team to do so.

The Student Hub team are available to answer your queries by phone, email or in person. You can find us in the Student Village in The Spark, TS114. We are open Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4.30pm and Friday, 9am to 4pm.

Mental health and wellbeing

The mental health and wellbeing service supports students with any emotional or mental health difficulties.

The team offers single session therapy, talking therapies and mental health advice, in addition to social prescriptions, groups, workshops and wellbeing cafés throughout the academic year.

To make an online referral please use our case report web page. Once received the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team will respond to you directly by the means you have specified on the form.

If you feel unable to do so, or have any questions, you can pop into the Student Hub, or email wellbeing@solent.ac.uk.

Safeguarding

Our Safeguarding team provides a person-centred approach to all of those impacted by a safeguarding concern or at risk of harm.

To report a concern, please use the Report and Support form.

Spirituality and reflection

The spirituality and reflection service supports students of all faiths and backgrounds.

Student Assistance Programme

Out of hours support is provided by the Student Assistance Programme, which offers a 24/7 helpline provided by PAM Wellness. Just call 0808 196 3533 and quote the code SOLENT1.
