With employability a key element of our degree programs, Re:So - The Retail Solent Initiative, allows students to gain valuable experience as part of their work based learning element of the course. This unique retail store is run by Solent students and sells clothing, accessories, art and other items designed by Solent students and graduates.

With the launch of the UK's largest ship and port simulation centre at our Southampton campus, we offer ship's officers, harbourmasters, pilots, port superintendents and other maritime professionals access to exceptional training using the very latest facilities.

Is sport your thing?

Our new sports complex supports and enables excellence in sport, health and fitness degrees for our student, in addition to teaching and research. As well as being a state-of-the-art teaching building, the gym, sports halls and fitness studios are open to everyone.

Looking for a career in journalism?

Equipped with 40 iMacs running iNews, Final Cut and the Adobe CC suite, the industry-reflective newsroom enables students to run news day’s encompassing video, radio, web and print in one collaborative space. The newsroom also allows delivery of all aspects of teaching the University's range of journalism courses.
