To enable us to fulfil the commitments set out within our Civic Charter, we work with a range of local community partners across Southampton and the Central South region. Through these collaborations we combine our knowledge and expertise with that of the local community, generating innovative solutions that drive knowledge exchange and mutual benefits. You can discover more about some of these partnerships on this page.

ABP Southampton Marathon: Solent's BSc Sport and Exercise Therapy students provide complimentary sports massages to participants of the ABP Southampton Marathon races. Students gain practical real-world experience that contributes towards their final qualification, while providing runners with a welcome relief at the end of their run.

Hampshire Constabulary: Our student and staff community work closely with colleagues at Hampshire Constabulary to raise awareness of important safety campaigns and deliver simulated briefs, while also promoting employment opportunities across the force.

MAST Mayflower Studios: Located across East Park, MAST is Southampton’s multi-art cultural hub. As well as collaborating with our BA (Hons) Acting and Performance course, our collaboration raises awareness of employment opportunities across the performance industry.

Southampton Cultural Trust: Building on the work of Southampton’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2025, Solent University continues to support Southampton’s cultural growth. You can discover more about our support of cultural communities across Southampton here.

Southampton Pride: As a long standing partner of Southampton Pride, staff, students and alumni volunteered to participate in the 2022 Southampton Pride March. You can find out more about our involvement in 2022’s event here.

Unity 101: Our collaboration with the South’s Asian and Ethnic radio station sees our student and staff community volunteer to support the community radio station’s delivery. Students studying BSc (Hons) Live Event Technology and BA (Hons) Television Production have filmed the station’s annual awards ceremony, gaining practical experience in live streaming and straight cutting from different feeds. Discover more about the partnership and our next Community Hour live broadcast on the Unity 101 website.
