Ways to donate

We’re so pleased that you’re interested in changing the lives of our students. Your support will make a real difference. Here’s how you can donate:

You'll soon be able to make a regular commitment to the University by setting up a direct debit. Regular donations allow us to plan for the future and help us to guarantee funding where it is needed most.

Please download and complete a donation form and return to us at:

Unfortunately, if you do not have a UK bank account you will be unable to set up a direct debit.

Your support matters - recognising our donors

By making a donation to the University, you will receive an annual update on the impact of your support and be provided with an insight into some of the ways in which your donation has made a difference to our students, staff and Solent.

Maximise your giving

Gift Aid gives the University an extra 25p for every £1 you donate. Gift Aid is designed to benefit charities. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases the value of your charity donations by 25% because the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift at no extra cost to you.

For example, if you donate £100, the total value of your donation to the charity is £125 - so you can claim back:

  • £25 if you pay tax at 40% (£125 at 20%)
  • £31.25 if you pay tax at 45% (£125 at 25%)

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax and the current basic rate of tax of 20% on your self-assessment return.
