Solent University is thrilled to announce the annual exhibition of final year student work for the Media Technology and Acoustics programme, will be taking place on Friday 20 May 2022.
As part of their final year studies, students from the areas of Film and Television Technology Production, Audio Engineering, Audio Engineering and Acoustics, Sound for TV, Film and Games and Live Sound Technology, will showcase their final year projects.
The final year project is an opportunity for students to undertake a large-scale piece of independent project work. The project is led by the student, rather than by lecturers, and is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their creativity and problem solving alongside their technical and project management skills.
The day will start with a buffet lunch 12-1pm followed at 1pm by a presentation from the Course Leader, Polly Hickling, who will update on the current position of the course and education in the media technology area in the UK. Guests will then have the opportunity to meet with the students presenting their projects as stands in an exhibition format. There will also be the chance to take tours around our specialist facilities including broadcast and technical installations, including our video laboratory, spatial audio laboratory, HD OB truck, digital cinema and Hemi-Anechoic chamber. The day will finish with a presentation of prizes from our sponsors from 4-5pm.
Polly Hickling, Course Leader for Media Technology at Solent said “We’re so pleased to be welcoming guests back onto campus for this year’s degree show, after running it virtually for the last two years. The end of year showcase gives our students the perfect opportunity to launch themselves into industry, and we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve”.
The event is open to the public and tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.
