Join us to find out how social workers support those people who are informal carers

Around 4.9 million people in the UK are informal carers. The role of a social worker is not only to work with people in need of care and support, but also with those people who take care of them.

In this session, Marietjie Joubert, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences and Nursing at Solent University, will explore: who are informal carers? In particular, we will examine the role of social workers in identifying and supporting informal carers.

Marietjie will draw upon her extensive experience as a social worker for children and families and in adult services in the UK and South Africa. In addition, Marietjie will offer insights from the social work programme at Solent University.

Please note: this session is held online!
