Award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Dan Walker, has been awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Media today (Tuesday 12 July).
The award-winning journalist and broadcaster studied history and then journalism at university and started working at local radio stations before moving into television.

He has written several books including the forthcoming ‘Standing on the Shoulders’, a sequel to the bestselling ‘Remarkable People’, and competed in the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Commenting on his award, Dan says: “I love being a journalist and feel very privileged to do my job. It has opened so many doors for me and enabled me to work all over the world. I am not really a gong winner, so it is both a surprise and an honour to receive this Doctor of Media degree from Solent University.”
