Oceans around the world are critically endangered – with their ecosystems on the verge of collapse. The major driver of this climate change problem is the enormous amount of plastic that ends up in our oceans because of anthropogenic activities, which is estimated to be 8 million tons per year.
However, there can still be hope but only if we play our part in raising awareness about ocean pollution, and what is a better option to communicate this issue other than fashion and clothing! Clothing is something that is not only widely consumed but is also subjected to constant innovation! It is something that can serve as a vehicle for this change better than any other wearable option.
This is exactly why Sea Ranger has entered the market. It is my family run ecofriendly online shop that sells sustainable clothing products like Hoodies, T-Shirts, and Jumpers for men, women, and children. These items are printed with impactful messages regarding ocean pollution.
My long term goal is for the business to continue growing, and eventually hand the business over to my son and nephews, I hope for them to be able to run it alongside their chosen careers.
The three boys each have their own page on the website to show their own designs, they also help at events we attend and are an integral part of the company. We also regularly organise litter picks and beach cleaning within the community together.
The products that we sell are 100% organic cotton. Each product is designed to be sent back again and again to make new products. Teemill have set up an excellent supply chain to be fully sustainable from start to finish. We have a page on the website that explains about the sustainability side of the business.Â
Sea Ranger clothing can also be purchased from Solent's Re:So store, located within The Marlands.Â
