Shortlisting success for enterprise support

In recognition of its outstanding support for student enterprise and entrepreneurship, Solent University has been shortlisted for The Small Business Charter Excellence Awards 2023.

Open to business schools that hold the Small Business Charter (SBC)accreditation, the awards are an opportunity to showcase specialist activity that delivers sustainable impact and legacy.

The University has been shortlisted for its Business Pitch, a project championed by the University’s Chancellor Theo Paphitis. Students and alumni had the opportunity to submit their business idea for a chance to win £10,000 to kick start or accelerate their business.

Solent University has a long history of supporting entrepreneurs and enterprise education, as evidenced by being in the top 12 UK Universities supporting Graduate Start Ups for the last five years (HE-BCI 2022).

The Small Business Charter demonstrates the commitment of business schools throughout the UK in supporting, championing, and connecting small businesses to our academic communities, influential business networks and our students and graduates.

The winners will be announced at the Small Business Charter Summer Reception taking place on 22 June at the House of Lords.
