Solent University academic joins forces with world experts for a United Nations (UN) space and global health report

Adam is a member of UNOOSA’s Space and Global Health working group, which is made up of around 80 experts from across the globe (including representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) and NASA). He was invited to join this group, following his co-authoring of the UK SpaceLABS position paper, ‘Why Space? The opportunity for Health and Life Science Innovation’.

The UNOOSA report provides the framework to support the wider development of equitable access to, and application of space solutions for, global health. It includes resolutions regarding access to the space environment and space analogues for health and life sciences research for social and economic benefits on Earth. It also looks to engage learning institutions in motivating young health professionals to acquire space-related skills and abilities.

Commenting on his involvement, Adam says: "I am delighted to be part of this UNOOSA Space and Global Health Working Group and to have made such a significant contribution to its report and resolutions. To be able to work so closely with such renowned experts from across the world, including those from the WHO, NASA, and other space and health agencies, is a great honour. "
