What we can do for you
The Schools and Colleges Liaison Team provide information, advice and support for prospective students, teachers, advisers, parents and carers.
The team is lead by Rhys Phillips. We attend UCAS and UK University Search fairs across the UK and school and college events across the South of England.
You will have a dedicated contact based on which county your institution is located in.
- Angie Randall and Sophia Basi – the majority of Hampshire and Isle of Wight
- John Wilson - Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, North West and North East Hampshire, Oxfordshire
- Rachel McCulloch – Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset
- Celine Scott and Liv Squires – Kent, London, Surrey, Sussex
Your contact will work with you to support your students, focusing on post-16 ones. Occasionally we work with the Access and Widening Participation Team, which focuses on supporting local, disadvantaged pre-16 students. You can read more about their work here.
On this webpage you can learn about ways we can collaborate, upcoming taster days, resources and open day information.
Collaborate with us
Collaboration is at the heart of our work
We wish to work closely with you and your colleagues within your institution to support your students. There are several ways you can stay in touch, work with us, and stay up to date with what's happening at Solent.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss ways we can support your students, email your contact within the team or the whole team on schools.colleges@solent.ac.uk
Fixed date taster days at Solent
We run several interactive subject-specific taster days on fixed dates throughout the year. These are for level three students, accompanied by their school/college staff.
Supported by friendly academics, your students typically get hands on with their subject in our state-of-the-art facilities.
