Jon Cooper, Lecturer in Sport Science

Biography

Jon has been lecturing in sports coaching since 2017. He has completed a BSc (Hons) Applied Sport Science, MSc Athletic Development and Peak Performance and is currently undertaking PhD studies investigating individual zones of optimal performance within strength and conditioning.

Jon has also been coaching in sport for over 10 years and more recently as a performance coach within athletics and Paralympic-level wheelchair rugby. Previously, as strength and conditioning coach within Olympic-level sailing and sport scientist/strength and conditioning assistant within championship football.

Jon is passionate about sports performance coaching and helping coaches from a variety of sports to develop and promote best practice.

Jon has over 10 years' coaching experience within a variety of sports, and has worked at professional, Olympic and Paralympic level within strength and conditioning and performance coaching.
