  • For health, nutrition and exercise science, we have a wealth of in-house health and wellbeing initiatives for you to get involved with including a personal training scheme, a strength and conditioning academy, an exercise rehabilitation clinic, a nutrition counselling service, as well as placement opportunities through our external partnerships.
  • For biomedical science, you can build lab experience in our specialist teaching labs while working with biomedical science practitioners and other professionals throughout the course.
  • You’ll be assigned a personal tutor who can assist you with pastoral support to help you make the most of your learning.

Learn in state-of-the-art facilities

Our facilities include a six-bed simulated nursing ward with a bathroom and kitchen, reflecting acute patient care. The community area features a waiting room, GP consultation room, treatment room, and care home room.

We also have specialised nutrition teaching facilities for hands-on experience in a teaching kitchen. Our two teaching labs are fully equipped for microbiological, biochemical, molecular biology, and cell biology work.

The sports complex boasts a multi-use sports hall, a performance hall with seating for 500, a community gym, BASES-accredited physiology and biomechanics labs, a sport and exercise psychology lab, a high-performance gym, and a sport and exercise therapy floor with three clinic spaces.

    Solent has a suite of newly-developed biomedical laboratories, purpose built to support teaching and research in biomedical science and nutrition.

    The Spark

    Solent's £33m Spark building combines interactive teaching spaces with lecture theatres and an atrium with social spaces. Central to The Spark building is the futuristic Pod, which has a full-size lecture theatre and open-topped breakout space.
