You’ll have access to our range of specialist facilities, providing a practical learning environment and access to state-of the-art resources to help you make the most of your time with us.
Our psychology laboratory consists of five purpose-built research rooms in various sizes to suit anything from individual participant research to focus groups. These rooms allow psychology students to collect data from human participants using the same resources as professional psychologists.
You can carry out cognitive and psycho-physiological investigations by using a sophisticated eye tracker to trace eye positions on a computer screen. You’ll also have access to our BIOPAC consoles and virtual reality environments to measure the participant’s physiological reactions such as heart rate and skin conductivity; and adult intelligence scales to interview recording basics; and experimental cubicles.
The Library building is open for Solent students and staff to access computers and study spaces, and for browsing the shelves and borrowing items.
Solent's £33m Spark building combines interactive teaching spaces with lecture theatres and an atrium with social spaces. Central to The Spark building is the futuristic Pod, which has a full-size lecture theatre and open-topped breakout space.
