Students work in very different mediums, so for instance painting, sculpture, video, performance and of course installation as well. They're encouraged to develop their own practice but also areas of interest throughout three years.
So it's a really supportive community, that students really work with and also there's a sense of support among each other but also support from our staff.
Upbeat music and cutaways continue as we start to hear the voice of Senior Research Fellow for BA (Hons) Fine Art, Dr Atsuhide Ito and he comes into shot standing in front of students' artwork hanging on the wall behind.
Throughout are cutaways of students' fine artwork including a painting of waves, three large multi-coloured canvases in various patterns, and a portrait of a man sat in a bath.

It's a safe and comfortable place to sort of nurture your talent and creativity.
We have great work where students work really closely with technicians and technicians get to know your project and they support you and they sort of help you also with decision making about what kind materials are appropriate for your project.

We have a really strong and firm connection with our local organisations and one of them is called God's House Tower which is a culture and heritage organisation, which has a gallery space.
Students, for instance, some of them work as interns. Graduates show their work as well. And God's House Tower and another organisation which is linked to God's House Tower called A Space in Southampton they also have a one-year support program after graduation to develop their career so they have an artist's residence opportunity.

Some students go on to work as technicians in theatres and also universities and schools. There are variety of other areas where students really move on to using skills they have learned here and also the manner of thinking they have learned here. So for instance some people work in creative industries but not maybe so much, not only defined in fine art. Students also are selected for regional art competition as well.
It's a really caring course it is for everyone it's not just for someone who has really great drawing skills or someone who is absolutely intelligent or anything like that.
I think we are working with a really diverse range of students and then we do really care for each and every student, we are really encouraging and supportive and then we have a really strong sense of community that you can nurture and develop your creative talent.
