Solent University is partnered with institutions and organisations all over the world, as well as attracting students from over 100 different countries. Our strengths in maritime, the creative industries and sports are globally recognised and our ambition is to be internationally renowned for delivering excellence in everything we do.
By building strong relationships with like-minded organisations across the world, we know we will achieve this ambition and will therefore be better able to:
- support our students, alumni and researchers as they enter the global employment market;
- provide international opportunities to undertake international exchanges, placements and visits;
- provide the opportunity to study a Solent degree while abroad;
- share expertise across borders, ensuring our programmes are the best the world has to offer; and
- have impact through our networks, where we can influence policy and drive globalisation.
Our internationalisation strategy has a strong focus on student experience and working with our students to prepare them for a future in an increasingly global society. A core element of this will be building skills, knowledge and competencies of an international nature in order to achieve the best possible student outcomes in employability.
We know from employers that such experience is highly valued in graduates. As well as our students, our staff are engaging with global partners to ensure that the experience our students receive is an international one.
International development
The international development team aim to inform, enable and implement the international aspirations of the University and its community by working closely with our staff and students. They are responsible for leading the University’s global engagement in key regions, identifying opportunities for partnerships and networks. The team works closely with academic schools and colleagues in other areas of the University to ensure our international activities are providing staff and students with a truly international experience.
