Criminal convictions disclosure procedure

While promoting equality of opportunity, Solent University has a duty of care to provide a safe environment for its staff and students. Therefore, at the point of enrolment all new applicants are required to declare to the University any ‘unspent’ criminal convictions or where there is a pending court case. This requirement is for all University courses with more specific requirements for professional practice which are subject to professional, statutory, and regulatory body requirements, eg, nursing or social work, where declaration must include spent and unspent convictions. The procedure linked below applies to all new applicants, existing students at Solent University, and students enrolling via Solent University for a course delivered elsewhere under a partnership agreement.
