Your results and confirmation

A Level and BTEC results day 2024: Thursday 15 August 2024 SQA results day 2024: Tuesday 6 August 2024

UCAS sends us results for the majority of your qualifications so many of you won’t have to do anything when you get your results if you have applied through UCAS.

If your place isn’t confirmed by 15 August, it's likely that we haven’t received your results, so you can send them to us at admissions@solent.ac.uk.

I’ve got the results I need!

Congratulations! If you were CF (conditional firm) with us, this should have been updated to UF (unconditional firm). We'll send you joining instructions soon after your results have been confirmed which will explain any course-specific information you need to know before starting your course in September.

If Solent was your insurance choice, and you didn’t get a place as your first choice, we will automatically become your first choice if you meet the conditions of your offer with us. You will also receive your joining instructions.

I didn’t get the results I needed

Don’t panic! If we are your first-choice university, we'll review your application once your results have been confirmed. Alongside your academic qualifications, we take into account any additional selection you have completed or any relevant work experience you have. On occasion, we may not be able to offer you a place on your chosen course, but we always look to find a suitable alternative, such as one of our foundation courses.

I’d like to defer now I have received my results

Once your place has been confirmed, and you have met the standard entry requirements for the course you’d like to defer, please email admissions@solent.ac.uk and we can action this for you.

Making your decision

Once you've received all decisions back from the institutions you have applied to, you need to choose your firm and insurance choices. UCAS provide information of your deadline date, by which you must make your choices. This should also be made clear to you on UCAS Track.

Confirming your place

UCAS will send results directly to Solent University for A-levels and BTECs taken in that year only - any other results you've obtained previously need to be confirmed by sending copies of your certificates to admissions@solent.ac.uk.

On results day, check your UCAS Track to see if you've been offered a place. This will depend on the results you get but if you do not meet our standard entry requirements as stated in the conditions of your offer, you may still be considered for the course you have applied for once we have received all applicant results. If you have received an offer, well done and we look forward to seeing you when you enrol at Solent. If you haven't received an offer, please see our Clearing information.

Welcome to Solent (enrolment)

If you've applied for a course at Solent University through UCAS and want to find out whether your place is confirmed, you'll need to check the status of your application on UCAS Track. The UCAS website will be able to give you more information and guidance on what to do next, depending on the status of your application.

If your status is still showing as 'conditional' after 30 August 2023, you'll need to contact the admissions and enrolment team to find out what to do next.

You'll also be able to find these contact details on your chosen course's web page. A full list of undergraduate courses can be found under the course tab at the top of this page.

What to expect when you arrive

Starting university is exciting, but it can also be a bit overwhelming. We've put together a website specifically aimed at freshers (students starting university for the first time) called Hello Uni. Hello Uni will take you through everything you need to know for your first few weeks on campus. This includes:

  • how registration works,
  • payment of fees, and
  • accommodation.
