Course overview

Whether it is non-fungible token (NFT) drops, the opening of virtual retail spaces, the introduction of virtual influencers, or the launch of the first global Digital Fashion Week, the world of digital fashion continues to grow and innovate, setting an exciting precedent for what could be to come. With everyone from luxury fashion brands to online gaming platforms embracing the opportunities digital fashion holds, this masters will equip you with all the critical and creative skills needed to push your practice and explore the developing symbiosis between the real and the virtual worlds. Whether you come from a background in fashion, media, marketing or gaming, this masters offers you an opportunity to develop your cross-disciplinary practice and explore the future opportunities of the digital world.

Fashion is a dynamic field with trends pointing to the need for all brands to embrace significant innovations in digital design, production and promotion to facilitate the creation of multiple digital and physical products from both fashionable and functional briefs. From immersive experiences to full virtual fashion collections, this course will provide forward thinking postgraduates with the digital capabilities to lead and innovate in this sector while also supporting a student’s individual career aspirations allowing them to tailor work specific to their discipline, whether this be fashion design, marketing, content creation, promotion or gaming.

The course culminates in a final master's submission, where students can either write a thesis or produce an original creative digital fashion outcome using everything from digital design to photography, AR, VR and immersive experiences. Students will have access to a wide range of industry-standard facilities in support of this project.
