You'll generally need around 104 UCAS points from at least two A-levels or equivalent qualifications. Some courses might also ask for an audition or a portfolio, so be ready to show off your skills!

You'll get a mix of practical performance skills and theory. Expect vocational training in acting techniques, vocal coaching, stagecraft, sound design, mixing and mastering. The courses include a mix of lectures and seminars, tutorials, workshops, and hands-on projects such as rehearsals, studio sessions and live performances to give you a well-rounded education.

The university has strong ties with the industry, so you'll get chances to work with established theatre companies, perform live, and gain real-world experience. Plus, Southampton's arts scene is buzzing with places like Mayflower and MAST theatres, TSE Productions, City Eye, and The Joiners where you can showcase your talent.

We have some great societies for music and performing arts students. You can join Solent Stage, which is perfect if you're into musical theatre and want to get involved in productions and performances. There's also Radio Sonar, where you can try your hand at radio broadcasting and production, and Solent Cinema, if you're interested in film production and want to work on movie projects.

These societies are a great way to meet like-minded people, gain extra experience, and have a lot of fun while you're at uni. Plus, if you don't find a society that fits your interests, you can always start your own!
