At Solent, you’ll learn from a network of professionals to make your ideas a reality, from academics with commercial experience to an elite guest speaker programme, with visitors including Caryn Franklin, Ateh Jewel, Terry Barber (Director of Make-up Artistry, MAC Cosmetics) and Martyn Roberts (Fashion Scout).
During your studies you will also have the chance to apply your skills in the professional world through real-world experience and internships, with past students working at London Fashion Week, Graduate Fashion Week, House of Holland, Timberland, Alexander McQueen, Ted Baker and M&S, amongst many others.

As a fashion student at Solent, you'll have access to a range of high-end facilities to support your hands-on learning.
Our purpose-built fashion studios are equipped with industrial machinery, pattern-cutting tables, lock-stitch machines, overlock machines, cover stitch machines, two industrial button-hole machines, and a chain-stitch machine. You'll also find over 50 mannequins and other essential equipment, including a blind hemmer, a fusing press, and industrial steam-irons with vacuum tables.
Our fully equipped make-up and hair design studios provide additional creative spaces. For photography, we offer 11 studios and a fully equipped infinity cove. Industry-focused special effects studios, a fiberglass lab, and a plaster room are also available for your projects. Additionally, a Mimaki digital fabric printer is on hand for print and surface design projects.

The Library building is open for Solent students and staff to access computers and study spaces, and for browsing the shelves and borrowing items.

As well as standard printing, Solent has a wide array of equipment for specialist printing onto almost any surface.
Solent's £33m Spark building combines interactive teaching spaces with lecture theatres and an atrium with social spaces. Central to The Spark building is the futuristic Pod, which has a full-size lecture theatre and open-topped breakout space.
